Frequently asked questions about self storage

What is self storage?

Self storage rooms are purpose built clean rooms in which to store virtually anything you want; from fish tanks, surf boards, seasonal decorations, furniture and office equipment.  Each separate room is lockable and you are the sole keyholder.

How much does it cost?

The amount you pay depends on the size of the room you rent.  To get an idea of what size you need visit our ‘size estimator’ or come and see our rooms and have a chat with a member of staff.

How can I pay?

It’s so easy, you can set up a direct debit or pay by credit card.  Then you can forget about reminders, it’s all in hand.

Do I pay weekly or monthly?

We invoice customers on a four weekly (28 days) basis, payable in advance.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

There is a refundable deposit, which is equal to one month’s rent.  When you leave Cube, providing you leave your room as it was when you arrived, and you have given us 14 days written notice, your deposit will be returned to you.

What is the minimum storage period?

The minimum period is seven days.

What can’t I store in my room?

You can store virtually anything except:

Living materials, such as animals and plants
Hazardous items such as flammable liquids or explosives
Items that can decompose such as food
Unauthorised or illegal goods such as firearms.

NB Customs and police have statutory rights enabling them to visit your room

When can I access my room?

If you have a drive up room you can access it 24hrs a day. 

All other rooms can be visited during our opening hours that are:
M-F 7.30am – 7.00pm
Sat 9am – 4pm
Sun 10am – 2pm

Pre-booked extended access can be arranged

Do I have to book?

No, but for a £20 deposit we can hold a room for you for three weeks.

When can I move in?

Whenever you like providing we have a suitable sized room for you.  Remember it takes time packing and unpacking your goods.

What size rooms do you have?

Our room sizes vary from 25sq ft to 200sq ft.

Are your rooms heated?

Are rooms are not heated, however, the temperature within the rooms remain fairly constant.  Our modern building is insulated so that our rooms are neither too hot nor cold.

Do you have a removals or van service?

Our parent company Edward Baden Limited is a well established local removals firm who can assist you with moving your goods into self storage.

Will you be able to help me move my stuff?

It is possible to arrange porters to assist you, but please give us warning so we can organise this service.

Can I change room size?

Absolutely, providing the rooms are available.
